Questions about SLES 28%

When should I choose SLES 28% instead of SLES 70%?

When you lack high-shear mixing or heated storage, or you use small quantities. SLES 28% blends directly, whereas the 70% paste needs careful dilution.

Can I make SLES 28% from SLES 70%?

Yes. Dilute 70% paste with water at a ratio of about 2:3 by weight, adding paste to water with good stirring, and add a preservative suited to your product.

Why does SLES 28% contain a preservative?

Because a dilute, water-rich surfactant solution can support bacteria and mould. The 70% paste is more self-preserving owing to its low water activity.

What HSN code covers SLES 28%?

SLES in both 28% and 70% strengths falls under HSN 340239, other anionic organic surface-active agents.
